Seward Park, Seattle, WA
Jamie and I went for a walk around Seward Park over the weekend. We kept it to the loop around the peninsula, as the weather was glorious and the views of Lake Washington, the Cascades, and even Rainier were amazing. I was happy to see people out in full force to enjoy this rogue weather. Although we didn't have a chance to get into it before the sun went down, this park contains some old growth and is a great example of what this area would look like had people not settled here. I'd like to go back and explore more of the forest section.

Birds, Discovery Park, Seattle, WA
As part of an effort to keep up with a couple other fantastic photographers Brett Ziegler and Mark Turner, I will be updating this blog more often.
Here are a couple of pics from way back in December of '09.

The Snow King does this every year, its their version of the new years parade, I guess. Lots of people get really pumped up and ski down the hill in a snake-like fashion with road flares, cheering and yelling the entire time. Bry and Jamie live right at the foot of the hill, so all we had to do was walk out past the front door and we were right in the middle of it.

My Model America, Jackson, WY
Gimmick...Trick...Call it what you want. I have a love affair with the tilt shift. Even though I only had it for a few days, the striking difference it creates is enough to refresh my idea of how to make an interesting photograph. This is sort of the beginning of a project exploring the world-turned-miniature through this lens.

Snow King, Jackson, WY
In lieu of a trip back to the midwest, Jamie and I spent New Years in the Tetons with her cousins. Despite the lack of snow, we had a lot of fun playing lots of darts, going for walks, listening to lots of music, and eating fantastic pizzas. Here is one frame of the Snow King resort about as busy as it was the whole time we were there. As you may have noticed, I've been playing around with the tilt shift, trying to turn everything into a model set. A few more posts, and I'll work through it. Please bear with me.
